The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents pinching of the lips and give a slightly more solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower and also introduces some poll pressure.
The Elliptical Dressage has a 45 mm lozenge with added comfy curved mouthpieces to soften the bar pressure. Â The mouthpieces and lozenge are ground flat to distribute the pressure evenly over the tongue and bars, which together with offset links further reduce the pressure points, allowing for a more accepted contact, relaxing and extending the nose slightly.
Mouthpiece material :-Â Sweet Iron Metal which oxidises easily, encourages salivation, helps bit acceptance and is warm and sweet. NB: with oxidation the blue will fade over time.
