The Drop Cheek has an Eggbutt like ring at the mouthpiece for the rein, with an upper cheek that has a ring at its end, to which the cheek piece of the bridle is attached. The mouthpiece does not slide on its ring resulting in light poll pressure. The cheek pieces lie flat against the horse’s face, and the mouthpiece is quite fixed in the mouth and concentrates pressure on the bars

The flexible mullen mouthpiece has an internal stainless steel chain covered with a bespoke non-toxic, UV resistant PVC tube offering an exceptionally soft and evenly distributed pressure over tongue and bars. Especially good for the horse that objects to metal. The idea behind this mouthpiece design, a soft tube which curves around the tongue applying spread tongue and bar pressure has since been further finessed with the innovation of the moulded mullen.
