The Point Two Soft Shell is discreet and stylish for virtually any activity. Identical to any other soft shell jacket used for show jumping, schooling or hacking out but with one major difference – it has a fully integrated Point Two ProAir2 airbag and trigger system.
Point Two’s exclusive trigger system is discreetly hidden in the front pocket of the jacket with a small opening for the lanyard which can be hidden within the jacket when not riding.
How the Soft Shell works The air jacket is inflated by a canister of C02, stored on the front of the jacket. When the rider separates from the saddle, the canister is activated by the release of a lanyard that is clipped from the jacket onto an attachment on the saddle. The air bags will inflate within one tenth of a second — roughly equivalent to the blink of an eye. The ProAir will hold the rider tight for 15-20 seconds and then slowly deflate over two to three minutes. While the jacket is inflated, the rider will continue to have full movement of their waist, arms and legs, and partial movement of their head.

Areas of protection The Point Two Soft Shell has been proved to work in three ways; to distribute pressure, absorb shock and support the spinal column in the event of a fall. When inflated, the airbag system offers the collar of the neck and trunk more support, thus reducing the risk of over bending the spinal column.
Should it be worn with or without a body protector? The safest way to wear the Soft Shell is in conjunction with a conventional body protector. Some riders who use the Soft Shell at home or while hunting tell us they prefer to use it on its own — where they previously would have worn no safety equipment at all. But for EA Eventing competition, the ProAir must be used with an approved body protector — such as the Champion Flexair. The Point Two Soft Shell is fully reusable, and requires servicing annually or after every six falls to maintain it’s lifetime warranty.
All jackets come ready to use with bungee lanyard, saddle attachment and a canisters. Every jacket is sold with a canister to give riders the opportunity to experience a test inflation of their new garment. It is highly recommended riders take advantage of this, so they know how the system works and how the jacket feels prior to a real accident.
Please note: this jacket is quite warm and here in Australia may be too warm to wear in certain conditions.
